Our Mission

The American Nicaraguan School (ANS) AI Task Force is an interdisciplinary team of educators, technology leaders, and academic coordinators. Our mission is to research, validate, and publish clear guidelines for constructive, ethical Artificial Intelligence usage across classrooms.

Proposal & Submission

Teachers or departments request new AI software or submit policy inquiries through our official channel.

Pedagogical & Privacy Audit

The committee tests data compliance, terms of service, age gating, and educational value.

Approved tools are added to the Innovation Hub with usage guidelines, traffic-light tags, and prompt tips.

Frequently Asked Questions

How can I request a new AI tool to be evaluated for classroom use?
Teachers can use the contact form at the bottom of this page or submit a request directly through the Tool Request Page. The Task Force meets weekly to review pending submissions.
What is ANS's policy on AI writing detection software?
ANS recognizes that automated AI detectors carry false-positive risks. We encourage pedagogical conversations, version histories, and oral reflections rather than relying solely on automated detection scores to judge academic integrity.
Are student personal accounts permitted on institutional AI tools?
For privacy compliance (COPPA/FERPA), students must only use AI platforms explicitly approved by the school using institutional Google Workspace accounts when required by course guidelines.
